Emily Ann Roberts is opening up about some of her goals, and they don’t all have to do with country music. The former contestant on The Voice says one of her biggest dreams is to someday be named Entertainer of the Year.
“I want to be Entertainer of the Year … Five years from now, heck yeah, I want to be Entertainer of the Year,” Roberts says on Apple Music‘s The Ward Guenther Show.
“I want to be the first six-syllable name [for] Entertainer of the Year,” she adds with a laugh.
But Roberts also has dreams for something else, which has nothing to do with her soaring music career. Roberts and her husband, Chris Sasser, post often on social media about their Sasser House, showing life behind the scenes, including their expansive garden, home repairs, and Roberts’ incredible cooking skills.
“A huge dream that Chris and I have for Sasser House is to have a true brick-and-mortar place that people can come to and experience what they see and what they’ve fallen in love with online,” Roberts reveals.

Roberts has a new EP, Thread, coming out on Friday, October 16. The five-song project includes the title track, “Laundry,” and more.
“This EP is the start of a new chapter that has been in the works since I finished Can’t Hide Country in 2023,” Roberts says. “Memories, moments, joy, tears, and longing shaped this season, and the new music reflects all of that.”
Thread also includes “Lonely Boy,” a song Roberts wrote with Ryan Beaver and Frank Rogers.
“I’ve always been a sucker for a beautiful melody. While the lyrics matter a great deal to me, I believe a melody is what draws me in to a great song the most,” Roberts explains. “That’s how I feel about the melody in ‘Lonely Boy.’ It captures me and makes me want to sing it over and over again. I wrote it with Frank Rogers and Ryan Beaver, and we dove into a story of a guy who has love right in front of him – he just can’t see it. I hope folks love singing along to it as much as I do.”
Earlier this year, Roberts received her first-ever CMA Awards nomination. Roberts is nominated for New Artist of the Year, a category she shares with Avery Anna, Carter Faith, Tucker Wetmore, and Stephen Wilson Jr. The 2026 CMA Awards will air live on Wednesday, November 18, at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.
