Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard Injured in Dirt Bike Accident

Florida Georgia Line‘s Tyler Hubbard is thankfully on the mend, after being injured in a dirt bike accident. The singer opened up about his condition in a video posted on social media, revealing he would be having surgery next week.

“A quick update from here at the Hubbard house,” Tyler shared. “My world has drastically slowed down over the last two days. I was at the track riding my dirt bike a couple days ago, over-jumped a jump and landed flat.”

The fall caused Tyler to rupture his Achilles tendon, and break a bone in his ankle requiring surgery, with less than a month until his wife, Hayley Hubbard, gives birth to their third child.

“Couldn’t be worse timing. I’m really bummed,” Tyler said. “I’m upset that I can’t be helpful around the house as much as I’d like to be. I know God’s teaching me something through all this and I’m gonna try to stay positive, gonna try to work on my mental game, and apparently some upper body.”

In the video caption, Tyler also said that Hayley is expecting him to recover quicker than what the doctor says is likely possible.

“Doc said his goal was to have me walking in 5 weeks,” Tyler wrote. “Hayley and I said ‘make it 4 weeks because that’s when baby number 3 gets here.’ Keep our family in [your] prayers. We are going to need it. Now I’m going to muster up the energy to hobble to the toilet.”

Injury aside, Tyler is ready to welcome their son, who will become a baby brother to two-year-old Olivia and one-year-old Luca.

“In a weird way, I think we’re looking forward to the challenge,” Tyler told People. “The whole experience of having a child is like none other. It’s a rush of emotion and love that can hardly be explained. We’re looking forward to experiencing that again and then just knowing we’re going to be finished. This is our family, and let’s grow together.”

Tyler and his Florida Georgia Line duo partner Brian Kelley, just joined Chris Tomlin and Thomas Rhett in a performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. The men performed “Thank You Lord,” from Chris Tomlin & Friends, which FGL co-produced. Watch their performance here.
