HARDY Speaks Out As ‘wait in the truck’ Becomes Most-Added at Radio

HARDY is speaking out only a few days after the release of his powerful “wait in the truck” duet with Lainey Wilson. The 31-year-old shared a video on social media, as the song makes a huge impact at country radio.

“Country radio, you guys are freaking incredible,” HARDY says. “Thank you so much to the ones that added this song. Amazing. No. 1 most-added. Incredible. Thank you guys. I’m very, very excited about this song. I’m just excited to see the run it’s gonna have, to see the impact it’s going to have on people’s lives, and a lot of that has to do with you guys, so thank you very much. I’m excited to  see y’all out there.”

HARDY wrote “wait in the truck” with Hunter Phelps, Jordan Schmidt and Renee Blair, and knew right away they had created something special.

“It’s the best song I have ever written in my entire life, and it’s called ‘Wait In The Truck,’” HARDY shared on social media, ahead of the song’s release. “I’m doing it with Lainey Wilson. Very heavy subject matter. Awesome story song. Very excited.”

Still, while the Mississippi native knew “wait in the truck” was special, he had no idea how special it was until he heard the demo for the first time.

“’wait in the truck,’ my next single, is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written – probably the best song I’ve ever written to be honest,” HARDY said. “It hit me so hard the first time I heard the demo back, and no other song had done that before. Very excited for the world to hear the song, excited for the song to give people a platform to maybe speak out about stuff that might be going on in their own homes. Thank you to Lainey Wilson for doing this song with me – she crushed it, she crushed the music video, I just can’t wait for the world to see this and I can’t wait to play it live.”

“wait in the truck” is from a forthcoming new album from HARDY. He will embark on his headlining Wall to Wall Tour in December. The tour will kick off on December 1 in Athens, Georgia, and wrap up on December 16 in Greenville, South Carolina. Jackson Dean will join HARDY for most of the tour, with Puddle of Mudd also opening for HARDY for one show. HARDY recently added a second show in Charlotte, North Carolina, after the first date, on December 9, sold out.

“I’m stoked to take this Wall to Wall Tour on the road,” HARDY says. “We’re hitting some cities and venues that I absolutely love; I’m happy to have Jackson out with me and honored that the guys from Puddle of Mudd are joining us in Columbia. It’s going to be a great time – a loud time – every night, and it’s just the beginning of what we have in store. See you out there.”
