Home Free Praises Their Loyal Fans: ‘It’s Something Special’ [EXCLUSIVE]

Home Free’s music has soared in popularity in recent years, thanks in large part to their loyal fans. The all-vocal group credits their fans with keeping them on the road, selling out venues all over the world, and their videos racking up millions of views.

“It’s something special,” Austin Brown tells Everything Nash. “I think it’s a major, if not the most important factor, to what we do. It allows us to do this for a living, and to feel like we can keep moving forward, because we know that as long as we keep making music that we enjoy, that they will enjoy it too. And that’s a luxury these days. We’re not always afraid that we have to constantly reinvent ourselves to keep our fans around, because they’re so ADD.

“It’s actually quite the opposite,” he continues. “We could never do anything new again, and if we just kept singing the songs we’ve done, they’d be happy. So it really is a joy having that kind of a support structure, in a day and age when that’s harder and harder to find for a lot of artists.”

Adam Rupp, the remaining founding member of Home Free, is proud of what their fans receive from their music as well, something he has strived for since Home Free’s early days.

“There’s an infectious nature to the fanbase that, when they watch our video or they come to a  show, they just feel good,” Rupp explains. “They feel good about themselves, and they just wanna keep that feeling. So, it is contagious to other people then. And then they jump on, and they just wanna keep coming back, and keep experiencing these good feelings that we provide altogether.”

The magic of Home Free extends beyond their musicality and abilities. All five of the members are friends, on and off stage, a closeness that can be felt by their fans.

“I think that’s a major part of this is that if we’re on tour, and we’re all on the bus, we all like hanging out together, especially in football season … We really do all get along,” Brown says. “It’s been an interesting journey together, watching all of this go from what felt like when I first joined the band, we were really just kids. And now we’ve got fathers in the band. Four of the guys are married, and we’re all just slowly building our own futures. It’s really inspiring and comforting, knowing that I don’t have to go to work every day somewhere. It’s only good. Don’t get me wrong. We have some debates and some arguments sometimes about the music and about processes, but there’s just such a level of respect and appreciation for each other.”

Home Free has plenty of dates on the calendar over the next few months, as part of their Road Sweet Road Tour. They will also perform at CMC Rocks in Australia later this month. Find music and tour dates at HomeFreeMusic.com.
