Jackson Dean’s ‘Don’t Come Lookin” Becomes His First No. 1 Hit

Jackson Dean officially has a No. 1 hit on his hand. The Maryland native just celebrated his first chart-topping song, with his debut single, “Don’t Come Lookin,'” from his freshman Greenbroke album.

“It’s hard to wrap my head around,” Dean says. “I wrote this with Luke Dick, my co-producer, as a way of explaining who I am and what I value to people. I never thought of the song in any terms except trying to show people – as a new artist – who I am. The idea it’s No. 1 tells me a lot more people value that sense of getting out there and getting lost than I [would have] ever imagined, which is pretty cool.”

Dean also shared a video on social media, expressing his gratitude that “Don’t Come Lookin'” made it all the way to No. 1.

“To every station that played this song, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Dean says. “Radio was a big part of my life growing up, and is a big part I believe that got me to doing what I’m doing now. To everybody that’s come out to see us, singing back to us, downloaded it, head-banged to it, got lost to it, thank you.”

Dean has been warmly embraced by country music fans since Greenbroke was released in March. The rising star has already been opening for HARDY, and will serve as the opening act for Blake Shelton‘s Back to the Honky Tonk Tour in early 2023, with Carly Pearce serving as direct support.

“It’s been a big help,” Dean told Everything Nash of receiving so much support for his music. “Y’all have been a serious big help. I did shoot a thing,  a piece of film a little while ago and on the display of a Ram truck was a photo of my album. That was probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.”

Dean will play several shows with HARDY in 2023, along with opening for Shelton. Find “Don’t Come Lookin,'” and all of the songs on Greenbroke, as well as a list of Dean’s upcoming shows, by visiting his website.
