Jason Aldean Wants to Record Some Songs With His Wife, Brittany

Jason Aldean has sung with Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert and more, but there’s another female artist he wouldn’t mind singing with some day — his own wife, Brittany!

“Brit’s a great singer,” Aldean boasts on Audacy’s Stars and Strings. “It’s one of those things where, to me, it all comes down to the song. If you find the right song, I think that’s really the key. It’s definitely something I’m not opposed to at all if the right thing came along and made sense. I would actually love to get her in the studio and cut some vocals. I don’t think she’s ever done that before. That would be cool. She’d be a little reluctant until she got in there. I think she’d be great.”

In fact, Brittany, a former NBA dancer, competed on American Idol in Season 11, making it to Hollywood before she was eliminated. She sang “Spoiled” by Joss Stone, in front of Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, with Tyler and Jackson both sending her on to the next round.

“I actually thought she had a pretty voice, it’s just not strong enough,” Lopez said at the time, “She’s not going to survive a week.”

While Brittany might have once had aspirations of being a singer, her husband says she is busy doing other things, and not just being married to a superstar.

“The biggest thing with us is we’re super supportive of each other,” Aldean tells People. “She’s been really good at trying to carve her own path, starting little businesses and doing her own thing. I try to be as supportive as I can of what she’s got going on. And she does that with me. It’s a good little team.”

Brittany isn’t the only singer Aldean would like to collaborate with. The father of four says he’d also like to sing with his good friend, Kane Brown, if they can find the right song.

“It’s all about the song,” Aldean acknowledges. “Kane’s music and my music is really, really different. So, when he sends a song to me sometimes, it’s just not really what I would normally do…I think it’ll happen at some point, when the right thing comes along.”

Aldean just celebrated his 27th No. 1 hit with “Trouble With a Heartbreak.”

“I’m so thankful for the career I’ve had,” Aldean said on Country Countdown USA. “You get a couple No. 1 [hits], and then there’s ten, and 20. It’s so beyond what I imagined when I started this. I hope I’ve got a few more in me, but 27, I’m extremely proud of that for sure.”

The country music hitmaker is back at radio with “That’s What Tequila Does,” which is already a Top 20 hit. Find music and tour dates at JasonAldean.com.
