Keith Urban Announces New Album, ‘The Speed of Now’

New music from Keith Urban is almost here! The award-winning singer just announced his next studio album, The Speed of Now, Part 1, will be released on September 18. Keith shared more of the details in a video posted to social media.

“Sometimes I have so many voices in my head, and I think, ‘Which one is the real me?'” Keith pondered, as part of a humorous –– and thought-provoking –- video, showing himself playing chess with himself, dressed as two different people. “The real you is the one who is listening to the voices.”

Keith also expounded on why the record is called The Speed of Now.

“In October 2019 this album title came to me,” Keith shared. “I liked it because I felt like life was flying by so fast. But music has always been the place where it slows down and doesn’t even exist. I would never have imagined that, in 2020, this album title would take on a whole new meaning, and yet somehow still feel incredibly relevant.”

Keith has had to postpone several shows, including dates as part of his Las Vegas residency, due to COVID-19. Although he misses performing, the 52-year-old is enjoying his time at home with his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, and two daughters.

“[We’ve had] lots and lots of family time, and I’ve actually been really enjoying that, honestly.,” Keith told Entertainment Tonight. “[We are] just being creative as a family with how we use our time and help other people in any ways we can do, even if it is something like an at-home concert. It’s our little bit to try and help out.”

The Speed of Now, Part 1 will include several new tracks, such as “Wait,” “Superman,” and “Polaroid,” among others. More information can be found at KeithUrban.net.
