Keith Urban Donates $250,000 to Nashville Charities

Keith Urban is giving to those in need this holiday season. The New Zealand native donated $250,000 to several Nashville charities, via Cantor Charity Days, a non-profit fundraising effort that is led by the financial group Cantor Fitzgerald.

“I have a deep-seated respect and feeling of gratitude for the work that all of these organizations do to make people’s lives more manageable,” Urban says in a statement. “Their commitment to community, what they do for Nashville, and for others across the country, is not only inspiring, but it shows how much we can accomplish when working together.”

$100,000 of the money went to Music Health Alliance, a non-profit that helps music industry professionals with mental, medical, dental and vision health needs, $50,000 went to Thistle Farms, which provides aid and employment to women recovering from prostitution, sex trafficing and addiction. $50,000 went to the Nashville Food Project, which works to combat hunger in and around Middle Tennessee, and $50,000 went to Vanderbilt Breast Cancer Research Program.

Urban is back at radio with his latest single, “Street Called Main.” The song, which follows his recent No. 1 hit, “Brown Eyes Baby,” is from a forthcoming new album.

“There’s somewhat of a thematic creative context that I started to find songs all coming towards what would be this next project,” Urban recently shared with Everything Nash and other media outlets. “Nashville is an incredibly creative community, and I’ve had the opportunity to travel everywhere and write with all kinds of people, and work with different people all over, really all over the world.

“And I’ve been so heartened to remember how much insane talent is here in Nashville: writers, engineers, players, producers, etc.,” he continued. “So there was a concerted effort on my part to look and find these songs that all came together with all of that criteria. That’s somewhat of the common thread that’s coming in this next album.”

Urban is currently on the Australian leg of his The Speed of Now World Tour. He will embark on his Keith Urban: The Las Vegas Residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Friday, March 3, 2023. Find music and tour dates at KeithUrban.com.
