Lainey Wilson’s ‘Country’s Cool Again’ Celebrates Country Music [LISTEN]

A new song is here from Lainey Wilson!! The Louisiana native just dropped “Country’s Cool Again,” a song from her next record, which also happens to be the title of her upcoming tour.

Wilson wrote “Country’s Cool Again” with Trannie Anderson and Dallas Wilson.

“I’m so excited for everyone to hear ‘Country’s Cool Again,'” Wilson says. “This song is a welcome to everyone who’s wanting in on the Western way of life. For a lot of us, country music isn’t just a genre, it’s our livelihood. Thank you to my amazing collaborators and my producer for helping me bring the idea of this song to life. Country’s Cool Again y’all!”

When announcing the song, Wilson said she was eager to share “Country’s Cool Again,” which she debuted last year at Red Rocks, with the rest of the world.

“I’m so excited to announce my brand-new song, ‘Country’s Cool Again,’” Wilsons said at the time. “This past year has been a wild ride and truly shown me that country music is really loving me back. This track is an ode to my upbringing and the story of my journey in this industry – where I have been and where I am now. I’m feeling all the love from country music fans, and I can’t wait to hear everyone singing this song back to me while we’re out on the road this year.”

Lainey’s current single, “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” from her Bell Bottom Country, is in the Top 15.

“I come from a long line of hardheaded tough people and people who have kind of blazed their own trails,” Wilson said of the inspiration behind the song. “I’m from five generations of farmers in northeast Louisiana, and I always compare farming to the music business. I mean, you get up every day, do the same thing, you have good years, you have bad years, but you just keep on blazing that trail.”

Wilson just won her first Grammy Award, for Best Country Album with Bell Bottom Country.

“It has truly changed my life,” Wilson said when accepting her trophy. “I am from a farming community in northeast Louisiana, a little town of 200 people, and I’m a fifth-generation farmer’s daughter. I would consider myself a farmer too, and everybody that I surround myself with, I think they’re farmers too, but they’re story farmers. And it’s about getting up every single day, and planting those seeds and watering them, and watching them grow.

“And sometimes when you find the right farming community, you can have the harvest of a lifetime, and I truly believe that, and I think that’s exactly what this is tonight,” she continued. “God bless every single one of you. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you so much to the Recording Academy, and thank you so much to my fans. I love you all so much.”

Wison will headline both her international Lainey Wilson: LIVE Tour, and her Country’s Cool Again Tour in 2024. She will also perform at RodeoHouston for the first time. Find “Country’s Cool Again,” and all of Wilson’s music and upcoming shows at LaineyWilson.com.
