Lainey Wilson Announces New Album, ‘Bell Bottom Country’

New music is on its way from Lainey Wilson! The 30-year-old announces the release of her sophomore album, Bell Bottom Country, out on October 28. The record includes her current single, “Heart Like a Truck” and a new song, “Watermelon Moonshine,” available now.

“I’ve lived quite a bit of life the past few years, and I have a lot more to say,” Wilson says of the 14-track project. “Sure, I love a good pair of bell bottoms, but Bell Bottom Country to me has always been about the flare and what makes someone unique — I have really embraced mine, and I hope y’all can hear that across this project.”

The new music comes as Wilson is still riding high from her recent No. 1, with her “Never Say Never” duet with Cole Swindell. The song, from Swindell’s latest Stereotype album, made it all the way to the top of the charts only 23 weeks after it was released.

“I knew this song was special the minute I heard it and I knew I had to be a part of it,” Wilson said on social media of “Never Say Never.” “I’m glad my gut feeling was right. Cole Swindell, thank you for being in my corner and believing in me enough to let me be a part of your musical journey. Thank you to my team and Cole’s team for coming together busting their tail. Thank you to Jessi Alexander, Chase McGill, and Cole for writing a song so special. And thank you country radio for making my dreams come true one song at a time. Cheers to another number one song, y’all. Let’s go do it again. And again.”

In addition to Wilson’s music career, she is also getting ready to show off her acting skills as well. The Louisiana native has been cast in the second season of Yellowstone, after the TV series used one of her songs for an episode.

“In 2018, my manager sent over some of my music,” Wilson tells Audacy. “They were looking for some music for the show for Season 2, and they ended up choosing one of my songs called ‘Working Overtime.’ This was before a record deal or anything. [Taylor] was a fan of mine, we’re a fan of his. He invited us to Vegas to play at this horse riding competition where I got to hang out with him, talk to him, shake his hand, and get to know him. We exchanged numbers, and he’s put three of my songs in his show so far.”

“[I] got to hang out with him a little more,” she continued. “He called me in February and said, ‘I want to create a role specifically for you,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re sure you want to do that? Let’s do it!’ I love doing things that are scary. I love stepping outside my comfort zone. It’s going to be great.”
