Lauren Alaina Is ‘One Happy Girl’ After Surreal Moment Opening for Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean

Lauren Alaina is grateful. The American Idol alum is opening up about her experience, serving as the opening act for Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean‘s co-headlining show at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium. It was a full-circle moment for Alaina, whose first big tour was on Aldean’s My Kinda Party Tour in 2012, which also featured Bryan as his direct support.

“Last night felt like all of the stages of my life colliding at once,” Alaina says. “For the first time ever, I had all of my family and my husband’s family watching me on one of the biggest stages I’ve played in my career. I’ll never forget looking out and seeing my big brother with his wife and babies standing next to my husband holding my baby. To top it all off, I opened up for my big brothers in music, Jason and Luke.

“The first time I stepped off of the Idol stage, they took me on my first ever tour,” she continues. “They have both taken me out on tour more than once since then. Turns out… all stages lead to Georgia. Last night I celebrated the ones you stand on and the ones you live through. I’m one happy girl.”

Lauren Alaina Speaks Out About Motherhood

Alaina and her husband, Cam Arnold, welcomed their first child, daughter Beni Doll, into the world on June 11, 2025. For the talented singer, everything that once was important now takes a distant second place to being a mother.

“It is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Alaina says on the Bobby Bones Show. “And everyone says that. … When they hand you that baby, your whole life changes. I guess my favorite part is the way she looks at me. I’ve never had someone look at me like that.”

“She’s completely dependent on me,” she continues. “What a gift that I get to be the one that can nurture her and take care of her. My second favorite is probably watching my husband with her. I love him so much more. And I already loved him, but watching him father her is pretty special.”

Alaina and Arnold wed in 2024. Although she was already deeply in love with him, she admits that watching him be a father makes her love him even more.

“He has a dance party with her every day when he gets home from work,” Alaina shares. “So he will turn the music on in the living room, and picks her up, and they dance. And now, she’s eight months old; it’s almost like she expects the dance party. Just the way he interacts with her. When she was really little, he was a little scared of her, I think.

“When they’re first born, everybody’s a little scared of them,” she adds. “They’re so little. But they’re very resilient … Just the way he talks to her, and the way he interacts with her, I’ve just never seen that side of him. And it’s so sweet.”
