Matthew West had the chance to spread a lot of holiday cheer, when he performed on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The Christian singer performed his original song, “Come Home For Christmas,” on the popular daytime talk show, only a few days before Christmas Day.

“I am so excited to bring this song to The Kelly Clarkson Show,” West said ahead of his performance. “I love Christmas music so much, and each year I find myself sitting down at the piano penning a new Christmas tune inspired by my love of this most wonderful time of the year. ‘Come Home for Christmas’ is not just a song, it’s an invitation for every heart to return to the wonder, the peace, the love, and the hope that this holiday season offers to every heart.”

 

“Come Home For Christmas” has been playing on Great American Christmas, the Great American Family channel’s holiday celebration, led by Candace Cameron Bure and Bill Abbott.

West’s We Need Christmas album was released last year. The 11-track record features both classic songs like “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland,” along with some of his originals, including the title track.

“These past couple of years have felt like peace is in short supply, hope has been hard to find, and love and joy have been lost for so many,” West said of the project. “Christmas is a time when our hearts can be powerfully reminded that the peace, hope, love, and joy we all need can still be found in a Savior.”
