Morgan Evans Releases Heartbreaking ‘Over For You’ Video [WATCH]

Morgan Evans just released the video for his heartbreaking new single, “Over For You.” Evans wrote the song amid his split from his wife of five years, Kelsea Ballerini, performing the song live at the CMC Rocks QLD Festival only a few weeks later. Thanks to the immediate response of his fans, the Australian released the live version of the song as a single, later releasing a studio version along with a video of the song.

“I recorded this vocal on the same day we wrote the song,”  Evans says. “It was a difficult time in my life and writing this helped me process a lot of what I was going through. I’d like to thank everyone that has reached out the last few weeks, both those with messages of support and those sharing their own stories.”

“Over For You” says in part, ” “I would have searched the whole world over for you / Took a flight, through the night / To be that shoulder for you / I would’ve let go if you wanted me too / How many times did you say you loved me / When it wasn’t true / I’m just wondering / How long has it been over for you.” Evans praised his fans for their support after the news was first announced.

“Despite the sadness, I feel very grateful, and want to say a huge thank-you to you all for the messages of love and support on here,” he said shortly after Ballerini announced their divorce. “I also want to shout out my great friends in California for the self-less care they showed me last week.  This photo is from Saturday. Felt really good to play some music again. Stoked for the shows this weekend!”

Evans recently opened up about how he is coping with the end of his marriage.

“It’s been a rough few months in my life,” Evans admits to Billboard. “Writing this song kind of helped me sort through that. The first time I played it at a festival in Australia called CMC Rocks. I didn’t have any expectations for it. I just felt like I needed to get it off my chest. The reaction to that was kind of overwhelming … I’m really proud of that song.”
