Old Dominion, Jason Aldean + More Join St. Jude’s ‘This Shirt Saves Lives’ Campaign

Numerous artists are once again supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and their This Shirt Saves Lives campaign, including Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Maren Morris, Scotty McCreery, Sam Hunt, Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini and more.

The This Shirt Saves Live shirt is available only to those who become a Partner in Hope, by donating $19 a month to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude offers completely free care to children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases, along with meals and housing for their families.

Alabama‘s Randy Owen can be credited with rallying the country music community to help support St. Jude. The singer launched the first Country Cares radiothon in 1989, which quickly turned into an annual event of rallying artists and others in the music industry to support the important cause.

In 2019, a patient and family room was dedicated to Owen, in honor of his tireless work in supporting St. Jude.

“The most important thing I’ll ever do, apart from being a father and a husband, is helping children at St. Jude,” Owen said at the time. “Over the past 30 years, I’ve watched children at St. Jude grow up to be happy, healthy adults. This room dedication shows that the country music industry has made a true impact, and I’m glad I could be part of that.”

McCreery received the Randy Owen Angels Among Us Award in October, joining a long list of artists who have previously received the honor, including Florida Georgia Line Lady AJake OwenBrad PaisleyJohn Rich and Darius Rucker, among others. The American Idol alum also asked fans to donate to St. Jude in honor of his newborn son, Merrick Avery, born in October.

“Getting the chance to get the Angels Among Us Award from Randy, it’s huge,” McCreery told Everything Nash. “It’s what I do this for. I get this platform, and what’s it all for if you’re not doing good and trying to help other people with the platform?  I’m not in this for awards or anything, but it’s nice to be recognized, and kind of a nod saying, ‘Hey man, you’re doing the right things, and you’re helping people.’ That’s what we try to do. So it’s great to be recognized for that in St. Jude.”
