Reba McEntire just announces she is re-releasing her classic 1990 Rumor Has It album! The record includes the title track, as well as “You Lie”, “Fallin’ Out Of Love” and perhaps her most popular song, “Fancy.” The vinyl issue will also include a live version of “Fancy,” recorded at the historic Ryman Auditorium, while the CD and digital versions will include both the live version and a dance remix.
“I never imagined I’d get the chance to put out an album for a second time. It’s just so much fun to look back and remember where we were and what we were doing when they were originally released,” Reba said in a statement. “This album in particular is very special to me because it was the first time I got to record with Tony Brown and he was the reason I finally got to record ‘Fancy.’ Now here we are 30 years later and I never end a show without singing that song.”
Reba also previously released a new version of “What If,” first released in 1997. in light of the struggles people are facing because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“It was a good idea to bring that song back because it is timely,” Reba said on the Today Show. “The things we’re dealing with now, we deal with it all the time, we’ve just got to stay together and find a better way of doing things… The song is really important today. It’s what if we did reach out with one hand, what if we sang with just one voice — maybe we could change things.”
In addition, the Country Music Hall of Fame member just re-aired Reba: Live, from a 1994 concert at the Omaha Civic Center. Clips are still available on YouTube.
Rumor Has It is being released again in honor of the record’s 30th anniversary. See the complete track list below. The new issue will be released on September 11.
