Reba McEntire Postpones Arena Tour Until 2021

Reba McEntire is postponing her 2020 tour until next year, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 65-year-old shared the disappointing news on social media, admitting it was not a decision she took lightly.

“We’re going to postpone our concert tour until next summer,” Reba said in a video she posted. “I hate to do that, but out of everybody’s well-being; we just want to make sure everyone stays safe and healthy. That’s the number one main thing. I’m going to miss you all terribly. The band, crew and I, we’re really wanting to get back on stage, but this is the best thing to do right now.”

Tickets can be refunded or honored for the new dates. Although not the same, Reba did reveal that old concert footage would soon be available to stream or watch online. She also acknowledged that she is saddened to not be able to hit the road like she originally planned.

“I can’t wait to see everybody when we know it’s safe to gather again,” Reba said in a statement. “We’ve worked so hard on this new show and I’ll be ready to go as soon as we get the green light!”

Reba just dropped a new video of her 1997 hit, “What If,” which speaks to those struggling with situations surrounding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“It was a good idea to bring that song back because it is timely,” Reba said on the Today Show. “The things we’re dealing with now, we deal with it all the time, we’ve just got to stay together and find a better way of doing things… The song is really important today. It’s what if we did reach out with one hand, what if we sang with just one voice — maybe we could change things.”

Reba’s new tour dates begin on July 8, 2021 in Evansville, Indiana. A full list of the new dates can be found at Reba.com.
