Reba McEntire is in Talks With Sitcom Cast for a Possible Reboot

Reba McEntire is hinting that her popular Reba sitcom might get a reboot! The show, which aired from 2001 to 2007, included Melissa Peterman, Christopher Rich, JoAnna Garcia and more, and it sounds like everyone might be on board to do a revival in some form.

“We’d love to,” Reba said in a far-reaching interview on the Today Show. “As a matter of fact, we’ve been texting each other. Melissa Peterman started it out and we’re all talking, hoping to get back together. We miss each other. It was a fun group to get to play with, work with, so we’d love to do it. Even if it’s two-hour movie…We’d love to get back together. They’re wonderful people.”

Last month, Reba and Melissa did a hilarious skit of their characters reimagined today during the self-isolation because of coronavirus. The skit, dubbed “Reba & Barbara Jane Social Distancing,” ended with a reminder for everyone to stay healthy.

Reba also opened up on the Today Show about how she is coping with the loss of her mother, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

“It was a true blessing,” Reba said of staying in Oklahoma. “It really was. I got to stay there at Mama’s house, and help Susie and Pake clean everything out. We had so many great times, going through drawers and boxes. Found pictures we’d never seen before. We cried, we laughed. We toasted Mama. It was an absolute huge blessing to get to do that.”

Reba aired on the WB network through 2006, and then on the CW network for one season. The singer postponed both her Las Vegas shows with Brooks & Dunn and her arena tour, due to COVID-19. She is currently scheduled to hit the road in July. Updates will be posted at Reba.com.
