Roman Alexander Celebrates National Tequila Day With ‘One Tequila’ [WATCH]

Roman Alexander is celebrating National Tequila Day with the acoustic video of “One Tequila.” The song, written by Adam Sanders, Lynn Hutton and Jacob Rice, is from Alexander’s latest Downtime EP, out now.

“One Tequila” was first released on May 5, an appropriate day to drop a song that is an ode to one of Alexander’s favorite spirits.

“It was so fitting that Cinco de Mayo was on a Friday this year, so we had to release ‘One Tequila’ then,” Alexander says. “It’s been a blast playing and seeing everyone react to ‘One Tequila’ all summer, and I’m definitely going to embrace National Tequila Day with one tequila, two tequila, three tequilas tonight!”

The Missouri native, who now calls Nashville home, has found several places in and around Music City where he enjoys a little tequila when he isn’t on the road.

“Tequilas Mexican Restaurant — their frozen margaritas are unmatched,” Alexander says. “One time when I was 21 I got so drunk that I stumbled and fell over on a nice little after church, family’s table. They were actually pretty cool about it.

“Rose Pepper: real lemonade in their margaritas,” he continues. “They aren’t too sweet but not too bitter. Just right. [And] Cilantro East Nashville: honestly they are the most simple straight down the middle margarita around.”

Alexander previously released the video for “One Tequila,” which became a cinematic story with a surprising ending.

“During the filming process of ‘One Tequila’ it was cool to see how Hannah Hall, our director, gave my idea for the video a life,”  Alexander previously said. “When I first got the idea for the music video, it came from me watching Narcos a while back on Netflix. When I watch a music video I personally want to feel like I’m watching a movie and I think we achieved that. We have part two coming soon with the Downtime EP!”
