Ryman Auditorium Doubles Audience Capacity Ahead of Brett Young Show

The Ryman Auditorium is doubling its audience capacity for their Live at the Ryman livestream shows, ahead of Brett Young‘s performance on Friday, September 11. The venue, which allowed 125 people in the audience for Scotty McCreery’s show on September 4, will allow 250 people for Brett’s concert.

In keeping with COVID-19 guidelines, “POD” seating will be available, allowing groups of two to six people to sit together, as available. Masks are required for all guests, employees and production staff. No food or beverage service will be available, although complimentary bottled water will be offered. Ryman staff will also have their temperatures checked, and enhanced cleaning operations will take place prior to the event.

The Live at the Ryman livestream event began on Friday, August 14, with For King & Country. Other performers included Cam and Chris Janson. Following Brett’s performance, Old Crow Medicine Show will close out the six-week concert series with a performance on September 18.

“Our company has prioritized the health and safety of our employees, customers and artists since day one of the pandemic,” Colin Reed, chairman and CEO, Ryman Hospitality Properties, said in a statement. “This unique live music experience represents the next step in our commitment to doing things the right way while also creating a repeatable model that will allow artists and fans to connect during this bridge period until a vaccine or treatment for COVID-19 is available.”

Brett is currently enjoying a Top 25 single with “Lady,” written about his wife, Taylor and daughter, Presley. The song was inspired by Lee Brice’s own 2017 single, “Boy,” co-written by Jon Nite.

“I just remember talking to Jon about the song that he wrote that Lee Brice recorded called ‘Boy,’ and how he didn’t want to do exactly that, but for a girl. If we were gonna write it, let’s do something a little different,” Brett told Country Now about the tune, which he co-wrote with Jon and Ross Copperman.

“It was his idea that the song isn’t about my daughter, but rather it’s a message to my daughter about my wife, her mom,” he added. “And once he landed on that and the message was telling my daughter if you want to really know how to be a lady watch mom, it made me really emotional and excited to write that song.”

Live at the Ryman livestream tickets begin at just $10. Find more information at Ryman.com.
