Scotty McCreery had a special guest while performing in Knoxville, Tennessee on February 2. The North Carolina native, who is currently on his Damn Strait Tour was joined by his son, Avery, born in October.

McCreery was performing a cover of John Michael Montgomery’s “Be My Baby Tonight,” when he left the stage to bring Avery up for the baby’s first show, declaring “This is MY baby tonight!”
McCreery previously hinted that he was planning on bringing both his wife Gabi and son Avery out on the road, which is why he got a separate bus for them to travel in on the road.
“Next year we’re gonna bring out a baby bus, so we’ll get him out there,” McCreery told Everything Nash late last year. “Gabi will be out there a lot with me too, so he’ll have his own little crib and everything. It’ll be a completely different way to do the road for me. I’ve been doing it now over ten years. I’ve got my system, so this is gonna throw that for a loop, but I can’t wait. It’s gonna be awesome.”
Hopefully Avery will adjust well to life on the road, since McCreery will be spending a lot of 2023 away from home. In addition to his headlining tour, the American Idol alum will serve as the opening act for Brooks & Dunn ‘s REBOOT 2023 Tour.
“Having been a huge fan of their music all my life, going out on the road with Kix and Ronnie is a dream come true for me,” McCreery said of joining Brooks & Dunn on the road. “I can’t wait for this tour to begin!”
McCreery is part of the American Currents exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, along with Cody Johnson, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, HARDY, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, Lainey Wilson, Parker McCollum, Ashley McBryde, Wynonna Judd and more. The exhibit will open on March 8.
