Thomas Rhett Hints He Could Handle Several More Kids

Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, are already the proud parents to three daughters, but he thinks he could handle a lot more. After welcoming their third daughter, Lennon Love, into the world in February, the “Be a Light” singer says having a few more probably wouldn’t be that much harder.

“I thought that adding three to the mix would be a lot harder but it really just tacks on a little bit to the chaos,” Thomas shared with his record label. “I think when you have more than two kids, you could have five, six, seven. I mean, it does get harder but I think that as they kind of become into that one and a half year old to two year range it starts to get little bit easier. I would say the infant stage is definitely the hardest. But I think once Lennon starts to get six months to a year, I think it’s gonna be just fine.”

Thomas might be happy at home with his family, even if life is anything but quiet right now.

“I think me and Lauren have learned that our life is chaos right now, and it’s just a season,” Thomas told CMT‘s Cody Alan, adding that his home is often a “chaotic mess.” “But, it’s been really cool being home with them. I mean, right now, I would be getting ready to get on a bus to go play our first show, which is really sad that we aren’t doing that. At the same time, I get to be home with my girls and get to watch them grow and get to watch them do things for the first time that I would have missed.”

Thomas was forced to postpone his Center Point Road Tour until 2021, due to COVID-19, allowing him a lot of time at home with his family.

“We’ve just been finding new ways to get outside,” Thomas revealed. “We’ll go swinging in the hammock, we’ll go walk in the woods. We’ll play in the pool, we’ll go to Chick-fil-A’s drive-through. I mean honestly, walking to the mailbox has kind of been the highlight of our days, most days. And when you have kids during this time you definitely have to figure out new ways to allow them to have fun while also kind of exercising their brain.

“To me, it’s been kind of a blessing in disguise to be able to hang out with them and get to learn them a little bit better, because on the contrary I would be on the road,” he added. “But now, I get to be at home and wake up with them, go to sleep with them, and just finding new ways to have fun with them.”
