Riley Green Talks 'Huge Opportunity' Of Being on 'The Voice'

Riley Green is a busy, busy man. The country singer has had a soaring music career, ever since his debut Different ‘Round Here album came out in 2019. But now, Green is also adding becoming a TV star to his resume, making his schedule more hectic than ever.

“I’m just trying to rest when I can,” Green tells Entertainment Tonight. “We’ve been pretty busy. And obviously, doing the Marshals show was a new experience for me; doing that amongst the tour was pretty tough. But this year, we got The Voice. So that’s going to be a huge opportunity. But also, we’ll be pretty busy.”

Green is becoming a seasoned pro at being in front of the camera. Still, he admits that he is still not a big fan of being on live TV at awards shows. He recently performed at the 2026 American Music Awards, and also introduced Keith Urban.

“I don’t read all that good,” Green acknowledges. So I gotta memorize what they want me to say on stage before the prompter comes up.”

“Anything televised is a little more nerves, a live show,” he adds. “But I’ve always felt like pop and rock and hip-hop singers are a little more famous than country singers. I guess I’m around country so much.”

Riley Green’s Future in Acting

Green’s time on Marshals has come to a close, but he is ready to do more acting.

“I would really enjoy being able to go, and get on set, and kind of get into that world, and stay there,” Green tells Extra. “And just be an actor for a little while. I think that would be something I’d really enjoy.”

Green got his role on Marshals thanks to his good friend, Luke Grimes. With one acting job under his belt, the 37-year-old is definitely ready for more.

“They threw it on me so fast I didn’t have to get nervous about it,” Green tells USA Today. “I wanted this to be a real acting gig, and I was lucky. This character has a lot of range, and there’s a lot of emotion. He’s a really kind of damaged guy.”

Riley Green Teases Collaborations On His Next Album

Green has a Top 3 single with “Change My Mind,” the last single from his 2024 Don’t Mind If I Do record. The Alabama native is currently putting the finishing touches on his next record, which he hints will have a few surprise guests.

“Well, there are some collaborations on this project that I didn’t even expect,” Green tells Taste of Country Nights. “So some of those things were, it’s kind of pinch yourself moments.”

“When you get artists that you’re such a big fan of and that you grew up listening to, be a part of your project… I’m sure I can’t name any names,” he continues. “But there’s some really awesome collaborations coming on this record.”

Green will be joined for the upcoming season of The Voice by Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, and Adam Levine.
