Blake Shelton Announces New Album, ‘Body Language’

A new album is coming from Blake Shelton! Body Language, a 12-track collection of songs that includes duets with Gwen Stefani and The Swon Brothers, will be out on May 21 on Warner Music Nashville.

“We’ve been working on this album on and off for two years now, and I’m very proud of what we have put together,” Shelton said in a statement. “We certainly had some unique challenges with the pandemic, but we also had a lot of fun. We explored new sounds while making sure to get in some classic country. I’m also thrilled to have my buddies The Swon Brothers featured on the title track as both co-writers and vocalists. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it!”

Body Language includes songs by hitmakers like Shane McAnally, Jesse Frasure, Dallas Davidson and more. Although Shelton has written several of his songs in the past, including “All Over Me,”  “Turnin’ Me On’ and others, according to his future wife, he is no longer interested in writing songs.

“I wish he would write with me, but he doesn’t really write anymore,” Stefani said on DJ Khaled’s The First One podcast (via Taste of Country). “We’ve actually written three songs together — we wrote a Christmas song together, and then we wrote two other songs.”

One of those two other songs is “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” their first collaboration together. That song appears on his 2016 If I’m Honest album.

Stefani joins Shelton on their recent No. 1 hit, “Happy Anywhere.Body Language will be available for pre-order on April 23. See a complete track list below.
