Brandon Davis Releases Personal ‘Family Tree’ Music Video [WATCH]

The video for Brandon Davis‘ “Family Tree” is out! The video became a family affair, with his wife, Destiny, filming the video, which features his entire family, including his children and his sweet mother, and their own Christmas tree and ornaments.

Ahead of the video’s release, Davis shared how the “Family Tree” video happened, and why it means so much to him personally.

“We were hanging out with my mom at the house this past week, and grabbed all of the Christmas decorations,” Davis recalled (via Facebook). “We have been remodeling the house; it’s taken forever to get to this point, and finally be able to start breaking out the decorations, and just enjoying everything around us. We broke out the Christmas tree, and all of the ornaments, and Destiny said, ‘You know, why don’t I go grab my camera, and we make a music video? Your mom’s here, and I think it’s the perfect way to show people what the song means.'”

Although Davis concedes Destiny is not a videographer by trade, she was able to perfectly capture the feelings and sentiment behind why he wrote “Family Tree” in the first place.

“It feels like a home movie,” says the singer. “It feels like going back and watching these old VHS tapes from when I was little and my brother was little, and we were getting ready to help decorate the Christmas tree, and just enjoying that. Watching the kids get so excited to see ornaments that they made from when they were two and three years old.”

Davis released “Family Tree” ahead of Thanksgiving, as a way to fully enjoy and embrace the holiday season. While he knew the song would resonate with others, he admits he was blown away when it debuted at No. 1 on iTunes.

“I am so pumped,” Davis shared on Facebook at the time. “We released it last night, and believe it or not, we have come in at No. 1 on the holiday charts on iTunes. I am so freaking excited. To start the Christmas season off this way, it has been an amazing year thus far, and it just keeps getting better.”
