Carly Pearce Announces Release of New ‘hummingbird’ Album

We now know when Carly Pearce‘s long-awaited new album will be released. The 33-year-old announces that her 14-track hummingbird record, which includes her current single, “We Don’t Fight Anymore” with Chris Stapleton, will be out on June 14.

“I have lived a lot of life in the last few years,” Pearce, whose  29: Written in Stone album came out in 2021, says. “Entering a new decade has brought a lot of maturity, growth, heartache, and healing. I am still a work in progress, but these songs represent my honesty, playfulness, and openness to keep growing.”

Pearce wrote the title track with Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally, Jordan Reynolds, and knew as soon as they wrote it that she wanted it to be the focal point of the project.

“When I wrote this song, I knew I wanted this to be the title of the album,” the Kentucky native says. “This song plays on my bluegrass roots but also lyrically tells the story of the journey I am on of finding love. This is the most unapologetically ‘Carly’ song I’ve ever written.”

Pearce also opened up about hummingbird in a heartfelt post shared on social media.

“The last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness,” Pearce writes. “A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowing that I have done some living and will always be unapologetic about it. These 14 songs incapsulate my confidence that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love of country music.

“When you hear this album — wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you just how strong you are and what you truly deserve,” she adds. “That we can all find the ‘hummingbird’ in the midst of whatever we’re going through.”

In addition to her current single, Pearce also released “Country Music Made Me Do It,” a song she originally thought would be the title track, until she wrote “hummingbird.”

“When I wrote ‘Country Music Made Me Do It,’ I was like, ‘This is the title of the album,’” Pearce tells Billboard. “’hummingbird’ was one of the last songs I wrote for the record and it was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is what it was meant to be the whole time.’”

Pearce will hit the road on March 14 with Tim McGraw on his Standing Room Only Tour. See a track list for hummingbird below. Find music and tour dates at CarlyPearce.com.
