Garth Brooks Postpones ‘Inside Studio G’ and Facebook Concert With Trisha Yearwood Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Garth Brooks is postponing both his weekly Inside Studio G series on Facebook, and his Facebook concert, scheduled for Tuesday, July 7 with his wife, Trisha Yearwood, and reveals they are both quarantining amid COVID-19 concerns. The singer posted the news on social media, sharing that they both could have been exposed to the virus.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Garth Brooks is moving his and Trisha Yearwood’s July 7th Facebook concert to a later date and postponing Inside Studio G for 2 weeks,” a statement reads on Garth’s Facebook page. “While Garth and Trisha are fine, the Garth/Trisha camp has possibly been exposed to the Covid-19 virus. To be smart about this, they are all quarantining for 2 weeks and thank everyone for their concern.-Team Garth & TeamTY”

The news comes after Garth set another world record, following his concert which aired at 300 drive-in theaters across the country. The show drew 350,000 fans to theaters across the country, making it the largest one-night show ever to play outdoor theaters in North America.

“Last night I saw everything great about the old days, but it happened right in the middle of the most uncertain times I have known in my life,” Garth wrote on social media following the innovative concert. “I can’t thank you enough!!! love, g”

Garth just released a new single, “We Belong Together,” inspired by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Music is the greatest healer and also the greatest equalizer,” Garth said of the song, which Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts first shared on her own Facebook page. “A lot of people have asked how I feel about what is going on in the world right now… and music is where I turn to answer that question — We Belong to Each Other, We are Sister and Brother… ALL OF US. We must not divide, but unite.

“Thank you Robin Roberts for premiering this song,” he added. “I hope it’s words ring true and that we all love one another more tomorrow than we did yesterday.”

Garth’s will release a new album, Fun, at a later date, although he admits he doesn’t have a specific release date.

“I don’t want to be the guy that tries to do something in the midst where everybody is hurting,” Garth said during his Inside Studio G weekly Facebook series (via Billboard). “The album’s ready to go. It’s just how do you get out and promote and be happy and jolly while everybody’s out there fighting for their lives not only physically, but fighting for their lives financially.”
