Jake Hoot Serenades His Daughter Madilyn With a Gene Watson Cover [WATCH]

Jake Hoot‘s biggest fan might also be his youngest. The Season 17 winner of The Voice posted a video of him serenading his daughter, Madilyn Bri, born in July, earning sweet smiles from his baby girl. Hoot sings “Because You Believed in Me,” a cover of Gene Watson’s 1976 hit.

Hoot captioned the video by revealing he was practicing for his performance at the Grand Ole Opry, which takes place on Thursday night, September 29, as part of the Opry Country Classics show.

The father of two has also been teasing an original song on social media, “B4U.” Hoot, who says it might be the “best love song of 2022,” vows to release the sweet tune when the song gets 1500 presaves.

The song is one of several romantic tunes Hoot has released since falling in love with his now-wife, Brittney, whom he married in 2021. The two released their  “Wherever Time Goes” duet together earlier this year, a song Hoot wrote with Houston Phillips and Michael Farre, inspired by his love for his wife and daughter Macy.

“It came from a sense of, all three of us are parents and married, and we were all talking about just how fast time continues to go as you get older,” Hoot explained to Everything Nash. “You’re gonna spend that time somewhere, whether it’s on your phone, whether it’s on the computer, whether it’s a video game system, whether it’s out fishing. And as it goes quicker and quicker, I feel like it gets more and more precious because it just does seem like there’s not as much of it. And so, we talked about that special person being where that time went as you go along.”

Hoot reveals on Facebook that he will perform both “Because You Believed in Me” and another classic song for his upcoming performance at the Grand Ole Opry. Watson will also perform for the Opry Country Classics show, along with Lorrie Morgan, The Gatlin Brothers and Rhonda Vincent, among others. A limited number of tickets are available here.
