Lainey Wilson is a married woman! The Grand Ole Opry member wed Devlin “Duck” Hodges in an outdoor ceremony on May 10 in Dickson, Tennessee, located just outside of Nashville.
“You could hear the water trickling down and birds singing, and we had a nice spring breeze,” Wilson recalls to Vogue. “I arrived in a white horse-drawn carriage and walked down the aisle with my Deddy to join Duck at the altar.”
Wilson’s friend, Wes Williams, married Wilson and Hodges. The bride and groom also took communion together during the ceremony.
“I have never seen Duck smile as big as he did then,” Wilson says. “It made me feel giddy about turning the page into this next chapter of marriage. We were both anxious to say ‘I do!’”
In a twist from tradition, Wilson reveals she and Hodges said their vows privately to each other, ahead of the ceremony.
“We each wrote our vows in a little notebook and decided to read them to one another before the actual ceremony to keep it intimate and personal,” Wilson says.
As promised, Wilson wore a dress instead of her signature bell-bottoms. She also incorporated some of her Southern heritage into their celebration.
“We wanted it to be special and beautiful, but really welcoming and comfortable for our guests,” Wilson explains. “We tried not to take ourselves too seriously. Being from Louisiana, I wanted to bring in a little bit of Cajun flair, so naturally we hired a 12-piece jazz band called Rebirth and had a Cajun meal from the chefs at my bar, Bell Bottoms Up.”

Lainey Wilson’s Reception After the Ceremony
Wilson and Hodges threw a party after the ceremony. Guests included Ella Langley, Wynonna Judd, Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll, Lauren Alaina, Drew Baldridge, Leanne Morgan, Lauren Daigle, and more.
“My mama led the dinner prayer for all of our guests, and we settled in for a night of good food, good company, and good music,” Wilson says. “Our family and friends know how to have a good time, and the dance floor was packed all night. To close out a perfect evening, Duck and I followed the band through a send-off line of sparklers and cheering loved ones, climbed into an old white Ford truck, and drove off!”
Lainey Wilson and Devlin “Duck” Hodges’ Sweet Love Story
Wilson and Hodges began dating in 2021.
“We went to a spot on the water in Nashville called Moby Dicky’s, and then we went to Silverado’s,” Wilson recounts. “We’ve been pretty inseparable since.”
They may have been inseparable, but Wilson waited two years to introduce Hodges to the world.
“I said, ‘We gonna see if you’re in it for the right reasons.’ Turns out, he is,” Wilson says. “Somebody said how funny it was watching him high-five all of my artist friends at the ACMs, and I said, ‘Those are his friends!’”
Fortunately, Hodges has been very supportive of her career, even if that means she spends a lot of time away from home.
“He knew getting into this, this is what I’ve been doing my whole life, this is what I’m gonna do, and so he knew what he was getting himself into,” Wilson shares on Audacy’s Rob + Holly. “He is a supportive cheerleader and he’s got his own things going too, and I support him and I cheer him on. He high-fives me in the door and on the way out.”
In 2025, Hodges proposed to Wilson, on the steps of a mansion that once belonged to George Jones.
“We’ve been trying to go see it for a while, and one of Duck’s buddies was listing it for sale,” Wilson remembers on Apple Music Country‘s The Kelleigh Bannen Show. “He had it all staged. Mandelyn [Monchick], my manager, and her boyfriend were supposed to be meeting us and all this stuff just to go look at it because I was like, ‘I want to go see where George Jones lived.’ And then we showed up and they weren’t there. And he had in front of the door, it was candles and picture frames and it was beautiful.”
Wilson and Hodges may have to wait until later to have an extensive honeymoon. Wilson will spend the weekend in Las Vegas at the ACM Awards, where she is nominated for seven trophies, including Entertainer of the Year.
