Lindsay Ell Reveals Her Favorite Places to Visit in Nashville [EXCLUSIVE]

Lindsay Ell might be from Calgary in Canada, but she proudly now calls Nashville home. The singer-songwriter moved to Music City more than a decade ago to focus on her career, and has since fallen in love with her current hometown.

While talking to Ell recently about new music and her performance at CMA Fest, we also had the chance to ask her about some of her favorite places in Nashville. Keep reading to find out where Ell might be if she isn’t on the road.

1. Favorite Place to Hear Live Music: The Ryman

“There are so many favorite places. I would have to say the Ryman. It’s just the Mother Church of Country Music, and there is special magic within those walls. When you’re sitting in a pew at the Ryman, you just absorb music differently. So it’s probably still my favorite place to go see live music.”

2. Favorite Place to Eat Breakfast: Milk & Honey or Fenwick’s 300

“I love Milk & Honey. It’s so busy these days, because all the tourists flock to the Gulch. If you do go to Milk & Honey, you do need to get there early. But it’s just so good. So either Milk & Honey, or I’m usually hanging out at Fenwick’s a lot.”

3. Favorite Place to Shop: Green Hills Mall and White’s Mercantile

“There are so many places. I’m going to have to go with Green Hills Mall, to be honest. It’s one of my favorite places to shop. I know that’s not really exciting. I guess something that’s more unique to Nashville is, I love White’s Mercantile in 12 South. I shop a lot there for special gifts. If I want to find something really cool for a friend or whatever, I’ll usually head to White’s.”

4. Favorite Place to Get a Cocktail: L.A. Jackson, Pearl Diver or Mother’s Ruin

“There are so many cool spots now in Nashville.  L.A. Jackson obviously is beautiful. It has such a beautiful view of the city, on the top of the Thompson Hotel. And Pearl Diver is really cool. There are so many good little places … Mother’s Ruin has a great vibe. I can hardly keep up with the list of new places that keep opening. It’s a full-time job just trying to keep up with what’s cool in the city.”

5. Favorite Place to Be Outside: John Seigenthaler  Pedestrian Bridge

“I love this question. When I first came to town —  I’ve lived in every neighborhood of Nashville, but there was something special about the pedestrian bridge that connects downtown to Nissan Stadium. And I still, when I need to feel inspired and like I’m connected to my life’s purpose, I will go walk on that thing, especially at night when the whole downtown is lit up, and there’s just something so cool about being on the pedestrian bridge in downtown Nashville, and being able to see downtown happen. And you can see Nissan Stadium, and there’s a warm summer breeze. It’s a good spot.”
