Luke Bryan is a busy guy. The father of two has a soaring country music career, plus is wrapping up his Las Vegas residency, is a judge on American Idol, and owns his Luke’s 32 Bridge bar and restaurant in downtown Nashville.
If anyone is ready for a break, it’s Bryan, and his two sons, Bo and Tate, who have been without their dad a lot this year..
“Four years ago, I knew that my last two years were going to be really, really busy,” the “But I Got A Beer In My Hand” singer tells Audacy‘s Katie & Company. “I’m ready to take a little breath. I love working. I love staying busy. I love being out there, but I’m certainly ready to sit in a duck blind, a deer blind, just sit somewhere and just clear the brain … I’ve been feeling the pressure for ol’ Dad to be home a little bit. They’re excited.”
This Christmas, Bryan is especially eager to spend time with his family over the holidays, after being away from home so much this year.
“We just hang around Nashville,” Bryan explains. “We’ve traveled so much this year. Just get Santa Claus done, get the presents under the tree. That’s the main thing. Just have the family together. I go around, do a couple of hunting trips here in Tennessee, and get down to my deer place, and deer hunt a little bit, but the main thing is just be together as a family. The boys, they’re so busy with sports and school, so when they get a little time off, it’s nice for me to have a little time with them.”
Bryan’s family, which also includes his wife, Caroline, his nephew Til, and nieces Jordan and Kris, have become popular on social media for their many antics, but that’s as far as he is willing to go, in terms of sharing his family with the rest of the world, which is why adamantly refuses to do any reality TV talent shows.
“I don’t see any necessity for that,” the 47-year-old shares. “We’ve got a pretty chill dynamic. It’s a little crazy and wild around there, but I think we are as famous as we want to be, and other than that, I think we’re just happy to be where we’re at. We love posting fun stuff as a family. The fans always love to see us as a big ol’ happy family, and that’s important for us to try to be, and show to the fans, and make sure we don’t showcase when we all get a little mad at each other around that crazy place too.”
