Luke Bryan Shares His 2023 Highlight As He Looks Ahead to 2024

Luke Bryan had a pretty unforgettable year. The 47-year-old is looking back fondly at 2023, still in awe of all that he was able to accomplish in one calendar year.

“When I look back at 2023, what stands out the most, literally, is how busy of a year it was and how amazing the Country On Tour was,” Bryan tells his record label. “You might prepare yourself for stuff to slow down a little bit, but for me, it was not that way. I mean, the crowds were huge. We were selling them out. The fans were going crazy.

“We had a lot of new baby acts come out with me, and I enjoyed getting to know them and hopefully being a part in taking their career to the next level,” he continues. “So, the Country On Tour was definitely the highlight of the year, as far as just how big it was and how the fans showed up every night.”

Bryan might have a great 2023, but he is ready for some sunshine to help kick off the new year. The “But I Got A Beer In My Hand” singer will head to Cancún, Mexico for his annual Crash My Playa event, held this year from January 17 to 20.

“For 2024, we haven’t announced our tour, but there’ll be a tour, and we’ve got Crash My Playa coming up right at the top of the year,” Bryan shares. “We’ve got Dierks [Bentley] and Jelly Roll and Eddie Montgomery from Montgomery Gentry – he and I are gonna do some songs together. I’m really excited about that. We got Dustin Lynch getting ready for the pool party, so Playa’s just been a great thing. Just about the time it gets too cold to be in Nashville, we fly to Mexico and get warm. Every time we’re driving to the airport, it’s a snowstorm.”

Bryan has a lot on his calendar in 2024, including returning as a judge on American Idol, but he hopes to balance work and his personal life a little better this year than he has in the past.

“Four years ago, I knew that my last two years were going to be really, really busy,” he recently explained on Audacy‘s Katie & Company. “I’m ready to take a little breath. I love working. I love staying busy. I love being out there, but I’m certainly ready to sit in a duck blind, a deer blind, just sit somewhere and just clear the brain … I’ve been feeling the pressure for ol’ Dad to be home a little bit. They’re excited.”
