Luke Combs Teases Release of ‘The Man He Sees in Me’ [LISTEN]

Luke Combs‘ next single might be about his two sons. The 34-year-old just shared a clip of a song, “The Man He Sees in Me” on social media, asking fans if he is “heading in the right direction.”

The song says in part, “I hope he never finds out that I didn’t hang the moon / And I’ve never scared a monster out the closet in his room / One day between him leaving home and driving on my knee / Maybe I’ll finally be, the man he sees in me.”

“The Man He Sees in Me” isn’t on his latest Gettin’ Old album, so it would likely be on his next project. The North Carolina native is a proud father to one-year-old Tex, and son Beau who was born last August.  He previously teased another song earlier this year, which also has to do with his favorite role: being a dad.

“Got sent this song a while back from Wyatt McCubbin that he wrote with Rob Snyder and Jeff Hyde,” Combs captioned the video. “Last night it was in my head and I couldn’t sleep so I got up and messed around with it for a few hours. Been singing it to myself all morning and as I watched the boys while Nicole got a shower in I recorded this.

“Hope y’all like it and sorry for all the dad songs but that’s where I’m at these days and I couldn’t be happier about it,” he added. “A lot more songs to come soon.”

Combs might have a busy career, which includes his upcoming Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old Tour, but he and his wife, Nicole, are both still very hands-on as parents, deciding to raise their children without the help of a nanny.

“We’ve thought about it, and it’s not a question of ‘Can we afford that?’” Combs said on  on Audacy‘s Superstar Power Hour. “It’s a question of ‘Do we want that for our kids?’ And right now, at this time, I don’t think that’s something that we’re really interested in, because I want our kids to have as normal of a life as possible considering the circumstances. I’d rather them be riding bikes than riding a tour bus.”

Combs just kicked off his Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old Tour. He is also putting the finishing touches on his Category 10 bar and music venue. Keep track of music and tour updates at LukeCombs.com.
