Megan Moroney made the difficult decision last night to cancel her show mid-performance, as part of her headlining Cloud 9 Tour, due to illness. Moroney was performing in Denver, Colorado on July 28, when she stopped the show, explaining that she was not feeling well.
“This is obviously the last thing I wanted to do,” she shared, “I am obviously extremely sick. I thought I did everything to make myself better, and obviously two songs in, I just can’t play this show tonight. I will make it up to you guys. I absolutely promise I’ll be back. … I want to give you guys the show you deserve.”
“I’m sorry,” she added through tears. “I promise I’ll make it up to you guys ten times. I love you, and I’m really sorry.”

Moroney later took to social media, expressing her disappointment at having to cancel her show.
“Denver. That was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make & I’m so sorry to cancel the show tonight,” she later wrote on Instagram Stories. “I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you guys tonight. I’m typing this as I’m quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all.”
Moroney goes on to say that she will return on August 27 to give her fans the show she was unable to deliver due to being sick.
“I’ve never had to do this and I’m truly so sorry,” Moroney concludes. “I love u guys.”
Megan Moroney Releases ‘Cloud 9’ Album
Moroney’s Cloud 9 Tour is in support of her latest Cloud 9 album, her third project, out now.
“I focus on what’s in front of me and just make art and music, and then let that define where it’s gonna go,” Moroney tells Esquire. “It ended up creating a really cool world that’s much different than Lucky and Am I Okay?, but still feels very me—the most me, I think—on this album, because my feet are planted and I have more confidence as a writer and an artist in what I can say and do.”
With multiple hit singles, sold-out concerts, and more, the Georgia native found a self-assuredness in creating Cloud 9, which contributed to a product that she is rightfully proud to have released.
“When I was writing these songs, I was overly confident,” Moroney says. “The sass was turned up to ten. I’m being an exaggerated version of my day-to-day personality, and I had a lot of fun writing from that perspective. I wrote songs like ‘Medicine,’ like, ‘You gave your number to an L.A. blonde? Well, I gave the quarterback mine,’ and ‘Stupid’: ‘What’s there to not love? I’m the whole package!’ Then I realized, ‘Oh, this is gonna be a fun, light album.’ That’s when things started to shift.
“It feels like the first album where I’ve really got the hang of things,” she adds. “This is my best foot forward, which I’m proud of.”
