Miranda Lambert, Mickey Guyton Among 2021 Grammy Awards Performers

Miranda Lambert and Mickey Guyton are just two of the country artists who will take the stage for the upcoming 2021 Grammy Awards, along with Maren Morris and Brandi Carlile. Other performers for the star-studded show include Bad Bunny, Cardi B, BTS,  Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Post Malone, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, among others.

Guyton spoke out about the honor on social media.

Guyton received her first Grammy Awards nomination this year, for Best Country Solo Performance, for “Black Like Me.” The industry recognition also marked the first time a Black female solo artist has ever been nominated in a country category.

“I am speechless,” Guyton said after finding out the news. “This nomination is a testament to never give up and live your truth. I can’t think of a better song to make history with than ‘Black Like Me’ and I hope that I can continue to help open doors for other women and people who look like me.”

Lambert is also nominated for Best Country Solo Performance, along with Carlile, Eric Church and Vince Gill. Brothers Osborne, Dan + Shay, Lady A, Little Big Town and Old Dominion each received nods for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, while Lambert, Morris, Carlile, Ingrid Andress and Thomas Rhett received nods for Best Country Song. Andress, Brandy Clark, Lambert, Little Big Town and Ashley McBryde received nominations for Best Country Album.

Instead of celebrities handing out the trophies, this year that honor will go to day-to-day workers from four locations: Troubadour (Los Angeles), the Hotel Café (Los Angeles), the Apollo Theater (New York City), and the Station Inn (Nashville).

The 2021 Grammy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 14, moved from the original date of January 13, due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2021 Grammy Awards will air live on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT.
