Nashville’s St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Rescheduled for November

The St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, originally scheduled to take place in April in Nashville, has been rescheduled for November 21. The event, which includes a marathon and half-marathon, was rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll marathons take place annually all over the world, both in the United States and abroad. Proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which offers free care, including housing and meals for families, for children battling cancer and other serious illnesses. The cause has been important to the music community, with many artists generously giving to the cause. Lady Antebellum was honored this year with the Randy Owen Angels Among Us Award, for their philanthropic efforts towards St. Jude.

“As parents ourselves, being an ambassador for St. Jude over the years has been one of the most gratifying experiences we’ve had in our career,” Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott said of their recent honor. “We’ve been all around the country and have seen firsthand the important impact St. Jude has on children and families, and the heartfelt community they’ve created. This is one of the highest honors we could receive and we are so thankful to contribute even a tiny part in the amazing efforts made by St. Jude.”

Everyone who has already registered for the Music City event will receive an email with further details about the new date. Carly Pearce and Michael Ray were scheduled to perform for the post-race concert. No word yet if they will still perform.

Runners who cannot participate in the November 21 date can choose a Rock ‘n’ Roll race in another city, or transfer their registration for the 2021 race. To date, more than $10 million has been raised for St. Jude through the event. Updates can be found at runrocknroll.com.
