Neal McCoy is joining the Grand Ole Opry! Neal was invited by Pam Tillis to join during his performance as part of Opry 100 Honors Charley Pride.
A stunned McCoy was joined on stage by Pride’s widow, Rozene Pride, along with Pride’s niece, Allyson Shaheer, after McCoy sang several of Pride’s hits.
“Oh my gosh, this is great,” McCoy said. “What a great night. And what a great night to be invited.”
Other performers during the evening included Darius Rucker, Pride’s son, Dion Pride, Tony Jackson, The Malpass Brothers, and The War & Treaty.
McCoy follows Rhett Akins, who will be inducted on October 13, and Charlie Worsham, whose Opry induction date has yet to be announced.

Neal McCoy Recites the Pledge of Allegiance For Over 10 Years
In January, McCoy celebrated his tenth anniversary of reciting the Pledge of Allegiance online every day.
“It’s a big deal for me,” McCoy tells Everything Nash. “When I started saying the Pledge of Allegiance on Facebook, I just really wrote it one time on my Facebook page, and put that up.”
When McCoy started reciting the Pledge of Allegiance every day, it was at the start of 2016. He never imagined that he would continue reciting it for more than a decade.
“In January of 2016, they were still trying to figure out who was going to be the Republican nominee and the Democratic nominee,” McCoy recalls. “And so they were already going back and forth. And I have a side, but it doesn’t have anything to do with this election. It’s just going to be, we’re going to get in there whoever we get in there, and hopefully, the people that we nominate will be senators and Congressmen; maybe they can all work together and get something done.”
What Neal McCoy Says About Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in the Future
McCoy may have more than ten years of saying the Pledge of Allegiance every day, but the 68-year-old has no plans of stopping anytime soon.
“I have in my mind, and my body and my physical shape, that I want to do it as long as I can,” McCoy says. “But I tell people all the time too, there could be something, whatever, if I get real sick or in an accident or something, to where I just couldn’t get to it, where I just couldn’t pick up the phone and do it. And then that will be the last day. But right now, while I’m still of pretty solid mind – my wife would argue with that – and physically I feel great, then I’m going to keep trying to do it. … I’m gonna keep doing it until something happens that I just can’t.”
