Reba McEntire Announces Release of ‘Not That Fancy’ Book

Reba McEntire is releasing another book. The Country Music Hall of Fame member announces the release of Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots, with the foreword written by Garth Brooks.

McEntire first announced the book in a video shared on social media.

“I’m coming back to TalkShopLive on April 17th at 7:00 PM Eastern, 6:00 PM Central to talk about my new book, Not That Fancy,” McEntire shared. “I’ll be joined by my good buddy, Garth Brooks, who also wrote the foreword to the book. So you’ll have a chance to pre-order a special, autographed copy of the book, as well as some new music and a lot more.”

On the TalkShopLive website, McEntire shares more details about her new book, and the inspiration behind her upcoming release.

“To me there’s nothing better than sitting out on the porch of Southeastern Oklahoma looking out at the deep red dirt that goes on for miles,” she writes. “A beautiful sunset, and then me, just sipping on a glass of iced tea (or whiskey) with loved ones, and seeing who can get who to crack up first. I don’t know what heaven’s going to look like, but if I get any say in the matter, I’d tell the Big Boy Upstairs that’s all I want. Just me, people I love, and those acres of red dirt.

“Throw in some beans and cornbread, and I’m all set,” McEntire continues. “All in all, I think the secret to a nice life isn’t that complicated. Most of us probably already know it in our bones, and that’s what I want to get back to. Simple fun, hard work, good food, and laughing with those you love.”

McEntire expounded on the book on the Barnes & Noble website, adding that Not That Fancy includes “simple, not-that-fancy truths” that McEntire lives by, along with a “bunch of good stories, photos, and recipes that go along with them.”

“So if you’re looking to slow down, get back to basics, and have a heckuva lot of fun, then my friend, I think we’re going to have a good time together,” McEntire says. “So come on in, kick off your boots (or leave them on, I don’t care), and learn how to bring a little bit of my ranch-inspired life into your own.”

Not That Fancy features more than 50 recipes for desserts, meats, sides and cocktails, along with never-before-seen photos and stories McEntire has never shared, until now, including of her long-standing friendship with Brooks & Dunn, and “falling in love over a plate of tater tots” with Rex Linn,  as well as numerous lifestyle tips.

Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots will be released on October 10. Pre-order is available here. Find all of McEntire’s music and upcoming shows at Reba.com.
