Riley Green is very single, a consequence of his superstar career. On a recent episode of Theo Von’s This Past Weekend, Green reflected on the challenges of meeting someone while almost always on the go.
“I feel like you know better than that because you’re in that world too,” Green says (via Country Now). “It’s really not that easy to meet a girl when you’re doing what we’re doing. I mean, I’m not going to meet a girl at a show. I’m confined to the back on a bus, and I’m not going to meet a girl on Instagram. And when you get to a place where people are, it gets tough to know who you’re meeting for what.”
Green is easily one of the most famous faces in country music. It’s what allows him to do more and more in country music, although he concedes that there is a downside to being so famous.
“I don’t mind being the center of attention at a show, or if I’m in a town, I’m playing a show and I go to a restaurant or a bar down the street. But I don’t like being the center of attention when I’m not supposed to. That always makes me feel odd,” the singer admits. “I don’t like to feel like if I went to another show and people were asking me for a picture, and there was somebody else on stage, that would make me feel really, really rude.”
What Riley Green Says About Settling Down In the Future
Green is single right now, due in large part to the demands of his career. But he isn’t ruling out finding love in the future, when his life isn’t such a whirlwind.
“I’m sort of like, grind right now, keep my nose down, say yes to everything. And then in a couple of years, things will stop doing this,” Green says, motioning upwards. “And they’ll kind of plane off and I’ll have this career, and I’ll say, ‘All right, I’m going to play 40 or 60 shows a year. I might film a little TV show or a movie or whatever, and then I can have a life outside of it.’ But it’s just tough to do right now.”
Riley Green’s Surprise At His Own Success

If anyone is surprised about Green’s success, it’s Green. The 37-year-old never imagined that he would one day become a country music singer, let alone have the success he is currently enjoying.
“I don’t remember at any point through high school, even college, thinking, ‘I might have a music career,’” Green reveals on the Today Show. “When I stopped playing ball in college, I was working construction. I started playing in bars. I played cover shows at these bars, and somebody else would come after me, and they could sing circles around me.
“So the only thing I could do to set myself apart was to write, because nobody can write the exact story I’m gonna come up with,” he adds. “When people started to tell me that this meant something to them, or that line reminded them of this, that was when I kind of became passionate about it.”
Green will also make his debut as a coach for the upcoming 30th season of The Voice.
