Todd Tilghman Teases Personal ‘Home Wasn’t Built In a Day’ Video [WATCH]

Todd Tilghman is giving fans a glimpse of the deeply personal video for his new single, “Home Wasn’t Built In a Day,” out on September 9. The Season 18 winner of The Voice posted a clip on social media, showing personal photos of him and his family, including his wife, Brooke, and their eight children.

The song will be released one day before Tilghman makes his Grand Ole Opry debut on September 10.

“‘Home Wasn’t Built In a Day’ is a song that I wrote with a couple of really fantastic, just super, brilliant songwriters, and becoming really good friends, actually. Lance Carpenter is one of them, Kelli Johnson is the other one,” Tilghman shared in a video on Facebook. “And ‘Home Wasn’t Built In a Day’ is kind of in a nutshell, to say the least, it’s kind of the story of our family, my wife and me and our family.”

Tilghman will be joined for his Grand Ole Opry debut by his good friend, and coach on The Voice,  Blake Shelton, along with Wendy Moten, Kolby Kolby Cooper, Callista Clark, Natalie Grant and Season 17 winner of The Voice, Jake Hoot. The chance to perform on the renowned stage is a dream come true for the former pastor.

“I cannot tell you how excited I am,” Tilghman said. “I’ve sang on that stage at Sunday Morning Country, and it was wonderful; it was fantastic. I have nothing negative to say about that, and that was wonderful. This is a whole different thing. This is the Grand Ole Opry. I just am blown away. I am blown away. God sometimes lays things in your lap that you never dreamed. I never dreamed in a million years that I would be on the Grand Ole Opry on the same night as Blake Shelton.”
