Tracy Lawrence raised more than $430,000 during his recent Mission:Possible Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament, with proceeds benefiting several local Nashville charities. The country music hitmaker divided the money into more than a dozen worthwhile organizations, including the Nashville Rescue Mission, Safe Haven, Oasis, The Bridge and Room In the Inn, hand-delivering the generous donations himself.
“It was a little overwhelming … we handed out some pretty substantial checks,” Lawrence says of donating the money, “It’s an amazing thing to be able to give that kind of stuff to people that are going to do such wonderful things with it.”
Kid Rock, Charles Kelley, Jake Owen, Jordan Davis, HARDY, ERNEST, Deana Carter, Mitchell Tenpenny, Jamey Johnson and Colt Ford, among others, took part in the Mission:Possible Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament, now in its second year. To raise that much money Lawrence admits is a bit overwhelming, in the best way possible.
“Having the golf tournament raise $430,000 in just the second year is truly incredible,” Lawrence says, “My peers really showed up this year and I am so thankful for their support in helping Mission:Possible. It’s because of them we are able to help our community is such a large way.”
Lawrence also shared a video of him passing out the donations on social media.
“So grateful to share that Tracy Lawrence’s Mission Possible raised more than $430,000 this year, which we donated to 12 organizations across Middle Tennessee that are working to aid the hurting and homeless,” Lawrence captioned the video. “HUGE thank you to each and every one of you who donated your time and money to help us accomplish this!”

The Texas native previously hosted his annual Mission:Possible Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert, which also raised more than $175,000 for Nashville Rescue Mission and other charities.
“I just feel such a great connection with the Rescue Mission,” Lawrence told Everything Nash at the time. “I think they do such great work in the community. There are so many folks that are less fortunate than we are. I think everybody should take the time to give back just a little bit more. They have an opportunity for people to get their GED, to go through drug rehabilitation, alcohol rehabilitation, just so many ways for them to get back on track when they fall on hard times. And even if they just need to go overnight. There are a lot of resources here people to use. I just think it’s something that we should really appreciate here.”
Other charities receiving donations from the Mission:Possible Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament include Jesus Provisions Ministries, Park Center, Brooks House, Open table, Shower Up!, Village of Glencliff, People Loving Nashville, NRM, The Bridge and Room In The Inn.
