Travis Tritt Joined by The Oak Ridge Boys For Song on ‘Country Chapel’ [LISTEN]

Travis Tritt just announced the release of his gospel album, Country Chapel. The ten-song project, which will be released on Gaither Music on September 15, includes “When God Dips His Love In My Heart,” a song that features The Oak Ridge Boys on the track.

“I’ve been wanting to make a gospel album for about 30 years, and I’m proud to tell you that that dream has become a reality,” Tritt says in a video shared on social media. “I have a brand-new gospel album coming out in September, called Country Chapel, and the first single from that album is available now.

“It’s called ‘When God Dips His Love In My Heart,'” he continues. “I love this song, because it reminds me of being in church as a kid. I was also very fortunate to have The Oak Ridge Boys help me out in the choruses on this song. I really enjoy this tune. I hope you do too.”

When announcing Country Chapel, the Georgia native said that he hoped the album made people grow closer in their own faith.

“I’ve wanted to make this album for over 30 years and I hope and pray that everyone who hears it will be inspired and encouraged through Jesus Christ,” Tritt said when the record was announced.

Country Chapel follows Set in Stone, Tritt’s latest album, released in 2021. That record was largely inspired by Waylon Jennings, a man he looked up to both personally and professionally, especially with the first song on the record, “Stand Your Ground.”

“The first time I ever met Waylon Jennings, he sat me down in his dressing room and he said, ‘Listen, I’ve been hearing all these things they’ve been saying about you,” Tritt recalled to  Music Mayhem. “I just want you to know that everything that they’re saying about you is exactly the things that they said about me and Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Jr. and David Allen Coe.’ And he just went down the list. He said, ‘Just remember this, those people that work for those record labels and those people that work for those radio stations and program those radio stations, they get their music for free. They don’t pay a dime for music.

“‘The people that you should be concerned about are those hard-working people that work hard, 40, 50, 60 hours a week to put food on the table for their families and put a roof over their heads,” he continued. “‘Those people are willing to spend a little bit of that money, that hard-earned money to buy your music every time you release something new. And those people are also willing to buy a concert ticket every time that you come close to their town. Those are the people that matter. And those are the only people that should ever matter.’”
