William Lee Golden and The Goldens Cover ‘Peaceful Easy Feeling’ [WATCH]

William Lee Golden and The Goldens are back with another song, this one a cover of one of the Eagles‘ most iconic hits. The family band, led by patriarch William Lee Golden, just released their take on the 1972 classic, “Peaceful Easy Feeling.” Their version of the song also appears on their three-album set, Golden Classics, out last year.

“Recording music like ‘Peaceful Easy Feeling’ is where we found healing,” Golden tells Taste of Country. “Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually — recording this album with these songs felt like it was a time of healing. It helped heal us as a family.”

Golden Classics includes two songs by the Eagles, both “Peaceful Easy Feeling” and “Take It Easy.”

“We did ‘Take It Easy’ and then ‘Peaceful Easy Feeling,’” The Oak Ridge Boys singer shares. “Those were the last two songs that we recorded as a band before the end of the pandemic. It was kind of like putting the icing on the cake of the 34 songs that we did record. To me, it felt like we were saving the best for last because each song seemed to get better throughout all the recordings.”

Golden’s son, Chris, sings the lead on “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” backed by the rich harmonies of his father and brothers Rusty and Craig. Fortunately, The Goldens already had video footage for their latest release, along with plenty of the other tracks from Golden Classics.

“This has been one of the best adventures ever recording and releasing new music with my sons,” Golden says. “While in the studio, we also brought in a video crew to catch every second. We have used this footage to create a music video for almost every song on all three albums.”

When Golden decided to record a new album with his talented sons, he had no idea that the project would end up becoming three entire albums.

“When we went into the studio to record these songs, we couldn’t settle on just one album,”  Lee Golden explains to Music Mayhem. “There were simply too many to choose from, so we recorded three albums. We brought in cameras to capture the experience and I am so glad that we did. This has been a wonderful experience to share with my sons and I hope you are enjoying it as well!”

Other songs available on Golden Classics include “Elvira,” “Why Me, Lord?,” “Bobbie Sue,”“Softly and Tenderly,” “Stand By Me” and more. Golden Classics is available for purchase here.
