9 Places to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Nashville

Happy Cinco de Mayo! The holiday, which originally began as a way to celebrate the Mexican Army’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, has turned into — at least for North Americans — a chance to enjoy Mexican food and drinks. Thankfully, Nashville has plenty of options. Keep reading for nine of our favorites.

1. Cinco de Mayo

What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than at an actual Mexican restaurant called Cinco de Mayo? There are nine — yes, nine — Cinco de Mayo restaurants in Middle Tennessee, including in East Nashville, Hendersonville, Brentwood and more. To celebrate, Cinco de Mayo is offering drink specials throughout the day. Cheers!

2. Big Machine Distillery and Tavern

Big Machine Distillery and Tavern, located in Berry Hill, is celebrating Cinco de Mayo with taco specials (try the Fried Avocado) and $5 VodkaRitas, available in classic, strawberry or jalapeño. Available from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Vodka, tacos, and live music? Berry Hill is the place to be this Cinco De Mayo. 🌮

4. Saint Anejo

Any day is a good day to eat at Saint Anejo, but especially on Cinco de Mayo. Their eclectic menu includes Short Rib Nachos, Poblano and Tomato Salad, Chicken Tinga Tacos and more. For a twist on the regular margarita, try their Jalisco Flower one, made with blanco, lavender, ginger, rosemary and fresh lemon.

5. Las Palmas

Las Palmas is celebrating Cinco de Mayo with all-day happy hour. Enjoy half-off their margaritas and draft beer, along with their diverse menu. We’re a big fan of their enchiladas, fajitas and Nachos Palmas, which are definitely big enough to share. Visit one of their nine locations, including in Antioch, Hermitage and Rivergate.

6. Mas Tacos

Mas Tacos consistently puts out some of the best – and most authentic – Mexican food found anywhere in and around Nashville. Their menu is simple, and affordable, and why there is almost always a line of customers willing to wait for their amazing food. Get a Spicy Carne Molida Taco and a bowl of Pozole Verde Soup for less than $10. Feeling thirsty? Add a fresh fruit margarita for only $8. Their refreshing Aguas Frescas are only $2 as well.

7. Pancho & Lefty’s

Pancho & Lefty’s menu seems made for Cinco de Mayo. With plenty of taco options, including Hot Chicken and Cabo Shrimp, along with tequila, beer and more, their menu practically screams Cinco de Mayo every day of the week. For Cinco de Mayo, Pancho & Lefty’s is offering to-go margaritas in adorable drinking bags, while supplies last.

8. Nada

Nada puts a unique twist on Mexican food, with dishes unable to be found anywhere but at Nada. Where else can you get a Roasted Mushroom or Cumin-Roasted Beets. Their Chile-Mango margarita is also unforgettable. Nada also has entrees to share as well. Don’t forget to try their Habanero Salsa if you’re feeling especially brave.

9. El Jaliciense

El Jaliciense is offering some unbelievable Cinco de Mayo deals! Buy two appetizers, get one free, and enjoy a 12 oz. beer for only $2.50. Their menu includes numerous options for both meat lovers and vegetarians, including the Birria platter, with spicy BBQ and rice, beans and tortillas, or the generous Veggie Burrito.
