Alan Jackson Announces Last Call: One More For The Road Tour

Alan Jackson is hitting the road on his massive Last Call: One More For The Road Tour, playing his hits from the past more than 30 years. The 63-year-old, who revealed last year he had been battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a rare degenerative nerve condition for the last ten years, hints that fans who want to see him perform should catch him on this tour, which might be his last.

“I’ve always admired my heroes like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride who just played as much as they wanted to, as long as they could,” Jackson says. “I’ve always thought I’d like to do that, and I’d like to as long as my health will allow.

“I’ll try to do as much as I can, but if I’m comin’ your way, come see me….” he adds.

Jackson decided to tell his fans about his neurological disease, because of the problems he was having on stage.

“I have this neuropathy and neurological disease,” Jackson said on the Today Show. “It’s genetic that I inherited from my daddy … There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years. And it’s getting more and more obvious. And I know I’m stumbling around on stage. And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so I just feel very uncomfortable.”

While progressive, the nerve disorder fortunately does not impact his longevity.

“It’s not going to kill me. It’s not deadly,” Jackson said. “But it’s related (to) muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s disease.”

One dollar from each ticket sold will go to the CMT Research Foundation. Most tickets will be on sale beginning on March  18. See a complete list of dates below. Find more information at AlanJackson.com.
