Alexandra Kay is heading Down Under! The singer-songwriter just announced a series of shows in Australia, kicking off on October 1 in Sydney.

Kay announced the news on social media.

“Australian Tour 2023,” Kay writes. “I’m headed for my first-ever headline shows and tour down under! In October we’re hitting Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane before heading to Savannah In The Round [Oct. 6-7]! I can’t believe this is really happening…it’s always been a dream to visit Australia, and now I get to do it as a completely independent artist… Australia, IT’S TIME!!!”

Kay’s Australian tour comes after she has spent much of the last several months on the road. The Illinois native launched her headlining Backroad Therapy Tour in 2022, which was extended into 2023 due to fan demand. More recently, she just wrapped up her Dive Bar Dreamer Tour, which concluded earlier this month.

In addition to more tour dates, the “I Hate Airplanes” singer is also eager to share her debut album with the world. The record, scheduled to be released this fall, is a personal look into Kay’s life, especially recently.

“I’m in a healing process,”  Kay previously told St. Louis radio station 92.3 WIL. “I wrote through it over the last year, and that’s the album everybody’s going to get in October. And so, I’m really excited to let everybody in on how I’ve been going through the last year, and what’s been going on, and how I’ve grown through it.”

Kay might have had a wildly successful year when it comes to her soaring career, but she admits her personal life has been more of a challenge, heartbreak she will share with her fans in her record.

“I’m kind of going through it,” Kay admitted. “I’m going through it a little bit in my personal life … I’ve had some major life changes over the last year. I’m putting out my first debut album in October, and it’s a first look into my life. I’ve given a lot of my personal life to the public over the past eight years, almost ten years that I’ve been on social media. I share and I overshare. I let everybody in, and so everybody has been asking a lot of questions, a lot of comments of, ‘Why have you not explained all these changes that everyone is noticing?’”

General admission tickets for Kay’s Australian tour will be available on August 24 at 10:00 AM Australian Eastern Standard Time. Find all of her music and upcoming shows at AlexandraKayOfficial.com.
