American Idol’s Noah Thompson, HunterGirl Announce Co-Headlining Tour

American Idol winner Noah Thompson, and runner-up HunterGirl are teaming up for a co-headlining tour. The two singers will embark on a joint tour, kicking off on October 27 in Columbus, Ohio, and performing eight shows across the country, wrapping up on December 2 in St. Louis, Missouri.

“I can’t believe a year ago, I was working construction, and now I’m announcing a tour with one of my closest friends, HunterGirl,” Thompson says. “HunterGirl and I met on Idol and became really close. We’ve stayed friends, and now we get to get out there on the road together. One of my favorite things to do is get up on stage and sing. I am literally living in my dream world.”

“This past year has been one of the most incredible years of my life,” adds HunterGirl. “It is going to be so much fun being on tour with one of my good friends, Noah Thompson. I am excited to be on the road with my band and have the chance to play new music that will be coming out soon.”

While rumors have plagued the two that they are romantically involved, Thompson, who shares a one-year-old son, Walker, with his girlfriend, Angel, says those rumors couldn’t be further from the truth.

“We had our trailers side-by-side,” Thompson told Taste of Country. “That’s not something we picked. We became close, man. We talked about how one person was feeling this way … she was just kind of there for me and I was there for her. We just became best friends.”

Thompson’s current single, “One Day Tonight,” is out now. The song, written by Jared Griffin, Trannie Anderson and Brett Sheroky, is from a forthcoming new album.

“I fell in love with ‘One Day Tonight’ as soon as I heard it, just by the sound of the melody,” Thompson says. “The lyrics are beautiful, the song has so much meaning and it is also so catchy! Can’t believe I get to sing it, to be honest, it blows my mind. I hope so many people love it just like I did when I first heard it!”

Prior to the American Idol finale, HunterGirl released her own, deeply personal new song, “Red Bird.”

“Red birds have been a big sign in my life since I was a little girl,” HunterGirl said of the song, which she wrote with Austin Goodloe and Matt McKinney. “There is a saying that states, ‘When a cardinal appears around you, it is one of your family members in Heaven coming down to visit you.’ My mom also told me when I was younger that if I made a wish on a red bird, when it flies my wish will come true.”

Tickets for Thompson and HunterGirl’s co-headlining tour will be available beginning on August 26. For more information, visit either NoahThompsonMusic.com or HunterGirlsMusic.com.
