Anne Wilson Teams Up With Jordan Davis for ‘Country Gold’ [LISTEN]

Anne Wilson has a new song out, this one a duet. The 22-year-old just released “Country Gold,” a collaboration with Jordan Davis. The song is from her forthcoming REBEL album, out on April 19.

“I am so excited about my new song ‘Country Gold’ with Jordan Davis,” Wilson says. “I’m a huge fan of Jordan’s music, and I’m honored to have him join me. This song is all about roots and remembering where the good stuff in life really is. I love the line that says, ‘The richest people that I’ve ever known struck country gold,’ and I hope you do too. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

The feel-good track is Wilson’s way of honoring her heritage, her family, and her formative years.

“‘Country Gold’ is a song about the good stuff in life that a lot of people tend to overlook, including myself sometimes,” Wilson explains. “I wrote this song about my roots, about the ground beneath my feet where I grew up in Kentucky. It’s about the beauty of a small town, traditional family, the value of hard work, and what my family taught me are the things that make up for a rich life.

“I love this song so much, and I’m so honored to have my friend Jordan Davis sing on it with me,” she adds. “I hope people hear this song and get a good reminder to remember where they come from and see the beauty of it all.”

REBEL is Wilson’s first foray into country music, after already finding success as a Christian artist, with songs like “My Jesus,” “Sunday Sermons” and more.

“I’ve been working so hard over the past 15 months to write these songs, record them and get them into the world!” Wilson said of the 16-track new record, which also includes collaborations with Lainey Wilson and Chris Tomlin. “I was raised on two things: the love of God and the love of all things country. That’s what fuels the music I make and that’s what you’ll hear more of on REBEL. I’m just so excited we are this close to releasing the record!”

“Country Gold” was released as “Rain In The Rearview,” her first country single, is rapidly climbing the charts. The song, written by Wilson, Matthew West, Zach Kale and Jaren Johnston, is an autobiographical look at how everything in Wilson’s life changed after the tragic death of her older brother in a car accident in 2017.

“Everything in my life shifted, and I now know what I want to live for while I’m here,” Wilson said (via CMT). “When you go through something hard, you realize what’s important in life, and for me, that was sharing my faith with the world.”

Wilson just wrapped up opening for Scotty McCreery on his Cab In A Solo Tour. She was recently named as part of the Grand Ole Opry’s NextStage class, as well as CMT’s Next Women of Country. Wilson also has a Top 5 hit at Christian radio, with “Strong.” See a track list for REBEL below. Find all of Wilson’s music and tour dates, and pre-order REBEL, at AnneWilsonMusic.com.
