Ashley McBryde is giving away free tickets at each of the remaining shows on her Into the Wild Tour. In a video shared on social media, McBryde announces the launch of the Light On Ticket Fund, created for people who would otherwise be unable to attend her show.
“I’ve been thinking about how much live music has meant to me throughout my life, and how some of my favorite memories happened at concerts and festivals,” McBryde begins. “And how special it can be to spend a night singing along with people who love the same songs that you do. I also know life is expensive right now. Between groceries, gas, rent, and everything else, sometimes a concert ticket just doesn’t fit in the budget. So today we’re launching the Light On Ticket Fund. At every stop on the Into the Wild Tour, we’re setting aside seats for fans who otherwise just wouldn’t be able to attend. If you know someone who would love to be there but probably can’t be, we’d love to hear their story. And if that person’s you, that’s okay, too.
“You can tell me your story as well,” she continues. “My team and I will read the submissions, and we’ll invite a handful of people to each show as my guests. Because music has a way of bringing people together, and I want to make room for a few more folks to have that experience. Ashley McBryde’s Latest ‘Wild’ Album
McBryde’s latest album, Wild, is out now. The record, which includes powerful songs like “The Bottle Tells Me So,” her current “What If We Don’t” single, and more, happened as a result of an accident McBryde had in 2021, which nearly ended her career.
“I was really, really badly hurt, and it was a bad enough injury that there was a chance that I wouldn’t have been able to perform ever again,” McBryde recounts. “With that in mind, I thought, ‘Okay, then what if the songs that are in our live show, that aren’t on records, what if I keep letting them not be on records?
“What if something had happened, and now somebody never hears ‘Water in the River?’” she continues. “Somebody never hears ‘Rattlesnake Preacher.’ Somebody never hears ‘Creosote,’ because I let myself be discouraged in this way or that way from putting those on the record? So that’s what I wanted to start with.”
McBryde has also been sober for more than four years, after going to rehab in 2022. Her sobriety touches every part of her life, including her music.
“I got out of my way,” McBryde explains. “And once I got my pouting out of my way, ‘I don’t get to drink anymore,’ and look at it and thank myself for just getting all of that out of the way. And that’s kind of the song, ‘Wild,’ to me in some ways. I almost ended the record with ‘Wild.’”
