Brandon Davis Drops Deeply Personal ‘Hearts Don’t Rust’ Acoustic EP

Brandon Davis is returning to his roots with his new Hearts Don’t Rust acoustic EP, out now. The five-track record is a nod to the early years of his career, when Davis was just getting his career started,

“I spent the first two years of my music career traveling this country with just my guitar and beautiful family by my side,” Davis explains on social media. “So to me, an acoustic EP just made sense. I hope you guys love this project as much as I do!”

The new EP follows Davis’ debut Hearts Don’t Rust album, released in April. Both versions of the project include his romantic — and personal — song, “Forever and Always,” written for his now-wife, Destiny, soon after they met.

“‘Forever and Always’ is the very first song I ever wrote for my wife back in 2017,” Davis explains. “When it came time for our wedding day, I managed to slip a copy of the song I had cut live with my family band to the DJ for our first dance without my wife knowing. At the time, it was the only way I could afford to have a recorded version of the song for our first dance. Holding her close in that moment when the song first started to play is a memory I’ll never forget. I’m so thankful to finally be able to share this song with the rest of the world the way it was meant to be heard.”

Davis is currently serving as the opening act on Tim McGraw‘s McGraw Tour 2022, where he and fellow opener Alexandra Kay are already both earning high praise from their tour boss.

“You’ve gotta come see them, because they’re just super talented,” McGraw boasts to his record label. “They’re both great singers that are great people. They have such an inner light to them. I think that’s gonna resonate on the stage, and I think that’s even gonna come out more when they get in front of a big crowd, in front of a lot of people on a big stage. And I think that’s gonna be something that you’re not going to want to miss, because I think that they’re gonna have a big career ahead of them.”
