Brandon Davis Receives Guitar From Tim McGraw To Replace Stolen One

Brandon Davis had a bright ending to an otherwise challenging week. The father of four revealed last week on social media that all of his gear was stolen, while he was on the road. But now, at least one important piece has been replaced — a Gibson guitar — thanks to his friend and former tour boss,  Tim McGraw.

Davis shared the video on social media of his wife, Destiny, surprising him with the elaborate git.

“Hey baby, so you had something come in the mail. Your friends, Tim McGraw and Gibson and Down Home, they sent you a guitar to replace the one that you had taken from you.”

@brandondavis_music Wow . There are no words . Sending the biggest thank you to @timmcgraw @down.home & @officialgibsonguitar #gibson #surprise #downhome ♬ original sound – Brandon Davis

Davis showed his appreciation for the gift by playing a clip of McGraw’s big hit, “Live Like You Were Dying,” before thanking the generous benefactors.

“There are no words,” Davis said. “I can’t thank you guys enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is an amazing blessing.”

Davis revealed on April 16 that his trailer had been emptied while he was in Arlington, Texas, asking fans to be on the lookout for any of his gear was taken, including guitars, drums, amps, merchandise and more.

“Over the weekend my trailer was broken into in Arlington, TX and all of our equipment was stolen,” Davis shared. “While it was a scary and heartbreaking experience I still got to end that very same night doing what I love surrounded by the most supportive crowd I’ve ever seen. This is country music.”

Replacing his equipment aside, Davis has a lot to look forward to this week. The Tennessee native will release his Jesus and Jesse James EP, out on April 28.

“This entire EP is filled with a stripped-back country sound that brings back memories of the kind of country I grew up listening to,” Davis told American Songwriter. “The main theme behind this EP is just the storytelling it holds and how unique each song is. I wanted to make sure there’s something for everybody no matter what phase of life they’re in. The songs take you on a personal journey that hopefully makes you feel like it was written just for you.”

The title track of Jesus and Jesse James is out now, with his family featured in the song’s video. Find “Jesus and Jesse James” and all of Davis’ music, as well as a list of his upcoming shows, at BrandonDavisMusic.com.
